Ed joined SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC. as a graduate in 2013 following a four-month internship at the company the previous summer. Having overseen projects for major organisations including Wimbledon, Roland-Garros, Visit Wales, Tourism Northern Ireland, England Athletics and numerous major brands, Ed now manages SMS INC’s work in Tennis, Cycling, Running and Swimming among other sports. As part of this, Ed uses his fluency in French, particularly in co-ordinating the company’s research at Roland Garros.

Ed is a quick-thinking Sports Business Manager who takes pride in designing research that leads to well-reasoned, creative and actionable insights for all his clients. He is an experienced presenter and debater, having addressed audiences of over 1000 people, including Nobel Laureates and politicians.

Ed’s responsibilities also include leading SMS INC.’s marketing work.

An ardent all-round sportsman, Ed is a strong golfer, accomplished skier, an active captain and committee member at local hockey and cricket clubs, occasional tennis and squash player, and completed his first marathon in Madrid in 2015. Off the pitch, he is a keen writer and blogger, and links to his work on the world of sport can often be found on the company Twitter page. He is a lover of all things sport, who even wrote his dissertation on the role of tennis as a form of dissidence in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.
