Several of the golf industry’s key personnel got together for the 4th annual SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC. golf day on Monday 8th September, which took place at Worplesdon Golf Club.

Once again hosted by SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC., seven teams each led by an SMS INC. member took part in glorious conditions, enjoying the stunning Surrey heathland course.

The live scoring by Golf GameBook saw the lead change hands throughout the day, in addition to wit, prose and brilliant images being shared on the app. The SMS INC. Champions Trophy was won by Team Danee, headed by SMS INC.’s retail audit manager Tan Danee, and comprised of American Golf’s Daniel Gathercole, Mizuno Golf’s Dave Matthews, and Golf Monthly’s Mike Harris.
Other challenges included a ‘nearest the pin hole’ won by Daniel Gathercole, and the ‘longest drive’ which was accomplished by Oli Churcher of Motocaddy.
An individual prize was awarded to Daniel Gathercole as he commanded the best individual score.

The golf was later concluded with a putting competition to raise money for the Golf Foundation. Bob Smith of Peter Millar eventually came out as victor after a 3-way tie resulted in a game of ‘Heads or Tails’, and Charles Harrison of the Golf Foundation collected the funds raised from SMS INC.’s Managing Director John Bushell during the prize giving.
